One day, a man was sitting in a cafe doodling on a napkin when a woman sitting at the next table who had been watching him walked over and said that she thought his doodles were absolutely incredible. In fact they were the best art she had ever seen and she told him that she would like to buy one. So, the man took out a fresh napkin and created a doodle and handed it to the woman and he said, "That will cost you ten thousand dollars." The woman was taken aback and replied, "It's amazing, but honestly who do you think you are that you can charge that much money for something that only took you thirty seconds to create?" The man leaned back in his chair and said, "Madam, my name is Pablo Picasso, and that doodle didn't take me thirty seconds, it took me a lifetime."
Tony Robbins charges one million dollars per day for his coaching services and he has a lengthy list of people who want him as their coach. Of course most professional coaches don't charge nearly that amount, but an insider tip you should know is that while professional coaches keep in mind the clientele they are serving, they don't charge based on what their clients can afford but rather on what their value is as a coach and their ability to provide the extraordinary transformations their clients are looking for.
Think of it this way. If you had a serious physical issue that was causing you deep pain which was keeping you from living a happy, fulfilled life how much would you pay a medical practitioner to take that pain away even if they were able to do it within a couple of minutes? My guess is as much as you could afford for the best person who could do the job.
People who want a coach understand the value they can bring to their lives either in terms of helping them advance in their careers, take their businesses to the next level, find the love of their life, gain the health they are looking for or any of the myriad things coaches do to help their clients.
Ultimately, great coaching is a game-changer for people and the value the get is more than worth the price they pay. I would say that from my own personal experience with coaches I have had and will continue to have in the future to help me achieve things easier and faster than I would otherwise, or not be able to do at all.
So, the reality is there is no fixed pricing system for coaching. The only common aspect is how coaching is offered either as a one-off session of a few hours, a package of a few or several months and even concierge services up to a year in length. Any coach you are looking to work with will know what works best for you and together you will agree on the kind of contract agreement you will have.
